Since UC Riverside first opened its doors in 1954, Native history has been an integral part of the campus. UCR sits on land where the Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples once resided. Rupert Costo (Cahuilla) and Jeannette Henry Costo (Cherokee) were instrumental in bringing a UC campus to the area. Now UCR celebrates a series of "first" accomplishments, all which came to fruition by grassroots efforts led by students, staff, faculty, and community support. At the center of campus is Native American Student Programs, or NASP, which opened in 1980.

LYRICS:
Life is a trip
Who woulda thought my pain, make me rich
Loving how I flip the script
& the chip on my shoulder got a dip
I say love look good on me, I say love look good on me
I say love look good on me, I say love look good on me

Been on a trip with out tripping
Stems and gold caps help me listen
Ok, being uncomfortable that's different
Being accountable, now I'm winning
Ask myself whatchu giving?
Are you drowning?
Are you swimming?
Are you doing?
Are you wishing?
Are you playing?
Are you committed?
I admitted I was hurting when I had to re-do the steps I was skipping
Lesson learned though
Knowledge is a good joint, watch it Burn Slow
Give it to your brothers and you gunna earn more
Give it to your sisters open up a portal
Where love is infinite, respect is formal
Hurtles is a blessing, as the legend D. Rose
I bet on myself like the boy Pete Rose
In this life you gotta be your own hero
The f!cks that I give is a lot and zero

Life is a trip
Who woulda thought my pain, make me rich
Loving how I flip the script
& the chip on my shoulder got a dip
I say love look good on me, I say love look good on me
I say love look good on me, I say love look good on me

My Happiness in homemade
Self-love is handmade
My hate is manmade
Scars with the bandaid
That don't do nothing Jack
That don't do a damn thang
Feel like I been betrayed
Been lost for decades
Lungs filled with OG
Blood filled with night shade
Been on a crusade
Knowledge of self homie, everything do change
Loyal to self homie, everybody do change
Thats not a bad thing, you being hurt by it
Now that's sad mane, I been in the same place
Running the same race, running that rat race
Filled with self hate, struggle to get away
Fumbled some dinner plates
Wasn't my time to eat
Blessings are never late
But watch the Orca rise
Watch me levitate
Watch me cultivate
My soul is to strong
My soul will not break

(REPEAT HOOK)
